trees are the most stable bioelectrical systems in nature, and we share a divine, living, breathing connection.
how divine is it that trees produce the oxygen we need to live, and turn the carbon dioxide and like waste we expire into more oxygen for us? the exchange is inherent.
it is no wonder, the more time we spend in nature, the more the heart rate slows, cortisol drops, and the nervous system (NS) stabilizes. like the trees, the more stable we are, the greater our ability for exchange, growth and strength. further, the more intentional we are with our life force, most sacred of roots, the breath, the more we maintain our true divine nature, calm.
yes, we are built to stress, but if we are constantly stressing or performing, then we are constantly reinforcing the “fight or flight” stress response, which reinforces incoherent breath, heart rhythm, and unnecessary tension, limiting our ability to stress or perform well. just like, we cannot breathe without the tress, we cannot root deep, perform well, without recovery. in the same breath, we are built to move, but movement without deeply rooted intention, connection and coordination inevitably increases risk of dysfunction, injury and pain.
notice how nature is perfectly balanced. there’s always an exchange taking place. for life to continue, there must be death. if our aim is to increase longevity, then we must recover, end what is no longer serving us, and return to our divine nature, honor our sacred roots so that we can heal and grow. it is only when you are calm that the electromagnetic field your heart emits gets more coherent, expansive and magnetic. simply put, better breath rhythm leads to better heart rate variability (HRV) and the better your HRV, the better your overall well-being, the healthier your roots.
by divine design, the diaphragmatic breath, your life force, connects to four breathing muscles, together known as the deep core pressure management system. when these muscles lengthen on inhale and contract on exhale, as they were so divinely designed to do, they manage demand, pressure, tension and stress, ridding the mind and body of what no longer serves, like the trees, stabilizing the NS.

so what would happen if we practiced connecting to and strengthening the deep core?
coherency of breath leads to a functional deep core and stable NS, encouraging coherent thought and movement. further, when breath to deep core connection is coordinated to movement, more specifically resisted movement, we lower pain sensitivity and prevent injury. we simply remain in balanced, healthy rhythm of growth and healing, optimizing performance and recovery.
